The Arc of Lake Thrift Store
The Arc believes that people should be able to work in competitive employment for fair wages regardless of disability. In order to help facilitate this, Thrifty Threads and Things provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to volunteer in our shop. Through this work, our volunteers are able to make a valuable contribution to our community, develop job skills, and form meaningful relationships within the lake community. It is our hope that with the help of businesses and individuals within the lake area, we can help fulfill the employment dreams of many individuals with developmental disabilities in Miller, Morgan, and Camden counties.
As our revenues increase, we hope to hire several individuals with developmental disabilities to fill job openings within our store. In addition, revenues generated will support more programs for individuals and families with developmental disabilities. We dream of meeting such needs as one time funding for special equipment, recreational opportunities, respite services, and so much more.
We hope you will join us in fulfilling our mission. You can help by donating your gently used items, volunteering within the shop, and shopping in our beautiful, clean and friendly store. Shopping never felt so good!
